Class decor

I'm quite pleased with the way the classroom is turning out. Thanks to those who stayed back on Friday (Pavan, Reuben, Daryn, Joel, Je Shen, Jocelyn, Rachel, and Alison). They suggested some very good ideas, like the dog prints and the honey pot etc. AND..... They stayed back to clean the room up. Let's continue with the good job. If you do have red packets at home (that your parents do not need), please bring them to school on Monday. Thanks.

Do use this blog to ask questions or to give suggestions/ comments etc. I seem to be the only one using the blog! Hope to hear from you. Have a blessed weekend.

Homework for the weekend:
1) Algebra worksheets
2) Book review
3) What They Did (Little Red Dot)
4) Journals (II Timothy 1:7 and Something Interesting That Happened This Week)
5) Continue to bring your thermometers
6) Spelling corrections if you have not done
7) Hand in acknowledgement slip from Newslink (If you have not done so)
8) Randall! Bring your silver badge!
9) Zhijie and Joshua, pls hand in your acknowledgement slips for the Good Progress Award.

Algebra again

Just finished marking your algebra worksheets.

Some things to take note of:

1) The units should only appear once in the final answer
E.g. It should be $(2x + 6) and not $2x + $6, even though they are equal.

2) The units should be outside the brackets and not within the brackets.
E.g. (3 + 6y) kg and not (3 + 6y kg).

3) The number should appear before the letter. Remember that in Maths, numbers are more important!!!!
E.g j x 3 = 3j and not j3! 3 should appear before j!

4) For division and multiplication, ensure that the answer is simplified.
E.g.1) 2x/8 can be simplified cos 2 and 8 have a common factor of 2, so the answer should be x/4.
E.g. 2) $3y x 5 is $15y. Multiply 3 and 5.

5) When the units are different, make them the same.
E.g. $50 + 45x cents = 5000 cents + 45x cents = (5000 + 4x) cents
or $50 + 45x cents = $50 + $0.45x = $(50 + 0.45x)

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY..........FOR EVERY ASSIGNMENT,
REMEMBER TO DO YOUR CORRECTIONS CORRECTLY!
